The Qatar Fencing Federation was established on 20
December, 2000 fulfilling the demand to include the Olympic Sport of
Fencing in the State of Qatar. The use of swords date back as far as
the Bronze Age. In the middle Ages swords were heavy to combat the
heavy armour worn in battles. As swords evolved over the years they
were used for close-quarter fighting and so became lighter
