QFF felicitates Asian Championship bronze medalists

DOHA, July 16: Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF) felicitated foil team bronze medalists at the Youth and Junior Asian Championship which took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The felicitation ceremony was held at the Al Sadd training center and was attended by QFF board members including, Vice-President – Hussain Yusuf Al Mulla, Secretary General – Saleh Amer Al Hemaidi, and Board member – Fahad Abdullah Al Mulla.

Enthusiasts from local schools and other clubs had also attended the ceremony which ended with a dinner gala.

Qatar's foil team thrashed Hong Kong 45-32 after a bye in the first round, they however lost to the champion Japan 45-16 to finish third.

Japan took gold after beating Korea 44-34 in the final.

Inall 10 teams participated in the team event they include Japan, Macao, Jordan, Qatar, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Iran Vietnam, and Korea.
