AFF elects Al Hemaidi as executive
committee member

August 07: Saleh Amer Al Hemaidi – Secretary General of Qatar
Fencing Federation (QFF) was elected as an executive committee
member of the Arab Fencing Confederation (AFC) on Thursday, August 2,
2007 in Tunisia.
Al Hemaidi's new position came after the successful backing and
support of His Excellency Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani –
Secretary General of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and President of
Qatar Fencing Federation.
The AFC meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of Arab Sports
Federation, Othman Al-Saad and the head of the Tunisian Fencing
Association Lutfi Ammar, alongside the delegates representing 14
AFC who were present at the meeting.
The associations include Qatar, Kuwait, Palestine, Jordan, United
Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia,
Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, (new member), while Yemen was the only
country that did not attend the meeting.
The meeting was aimed at electing members of the new Executive
Committee of the AFC and in a bid to set dates for Arab fencing
championships for 2007, 2008, 2009.
Executive members of Arab Fencing Confederation are as follows:
1- Mr. Abdul Raheem Al-Saeed – Kuwait (President)
2- Mr. Wannas Bin Omer – Tunisia (1st Vice – President)
3- Mr. Fadel Adel – Iraq (2nd Vice – President)
4- Mr. Saleh Amer Al-Hemaidi – Qatar (Member)
5- Mr. Bander Bin Usman Al-Saleh – Saudi Arabia (Member)
6- Mr. Noor-ul-Din – Morocco (Member)
7- Mr. Suhail Al-Qarees – Lebanon (Member)
8- Mr. Dawood Subhi Al-Metawali – Palestine (Member)
9- Mrs. Firyal Al-Salehi – Algeria (Member)
10- Mrs. Mervat Hassanein – Egypt (Member) |
