Executive board meet to discuss plans

DOHA, September 30: The Executive Board of Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF) held meeting under the leadership of President HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani at the headquarters.

During the meeting the board discussed on topics related to the preparation of Grand Prix Championship to be held in 2007 and Asian Tournament to be staged in 2009.

The meeting also decided the dates for staging the Asian Tournament as per the request of International Fencing Federation (FIE).

QFF has suggested two dates for Asian championship, the first one from June 22 to 27, 2009 and the second from July 6 to 11 2009.

The meeting discussed the preparation for Qatar Fencing GP 2009 as the meeting approved the top posts of tournament general committees which will enable each committee head to prepare for the entire committee’s mission.

QFF executive office focused on the forthcoming participation of QFF and the other championship in which the federation will participate such as the forthcoming Arab Juniors and Sub-juniors tournament to be held in Kuwait and the Arab Games to be held in Egypt.

QFF announced the list of the delegation for Kuwait participating at the Arab Juniors and Sub-juniors tournament from October 24 to 30, 2007.

Abdullah Jowhar will lead the delegation alongside the administration and technical staff in addition to 14 fencers, Hamad Saad Mubarak, Mohammad Bashle, Esmael Al Adsani, Ahmad Fathi, Hassan Al Khayath, Abdullah Barazkar, Khalid Al Hamadi, Abdul Aziz Al Amoudi, Abdullah Al Ebrahimi, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Al Sayari, Nasre Al Saadi and Ahmad Abdul Da’em.

QFF also released the names of the girls squad to Kuwait participating in the same tournament. The delegation includes administration and technical staff in addition to the fencers, Afraa Attiq, Nowrah Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari, Sarah Abdulrazaq, Fatma Dhahi, Nowrah Al Hitmi, Ghorror Abdul Wahid Maryam Al Khulaifi, Ghariba Dhahi, and Hala Kamal.
