QFF President meets UAE Fencing Federation President in Doha

DOHA, February 13, 2008 (Afzal Mehmood Shaikh): His Excellency Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani – President of Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF) and Secretary General of Qatar Olympic Committee met HE Sheikh Salim Bin Sultan Al Qassimi – President of UAE Fencing Federation, at the QOC headquarters on Wednesday.

Both officials discussed mechanisms of enhancing close sport cooperation between the two federations to promote fencing sport in their countries.

HE Sheikh Saoud greeted UAE guest and discussed the methodology of developing fencing sport in all domains, including players, administrators, coaches, and referees, as well as searching fields of coordination between the two federations. Moreover, he ensured the importance of improving fencing sport in the two countries to cope with Asian and International levels.

The meeting also dealt with possibilities of establishing joint camps, whether in Qatar or UAE with the objective of exchanging experience and gaining technical knowledge between the two parties.

The two officials have agreed to hold friendly tournaments, exchange technical experience, and stage training sessions for trainers and referees in the two countries.
