I gained good experience from the international exposure, says Al Hamadi

DOHA, August 13, 2008 (Afzal Mehmood Shaikh): Qatar's fencer Khalid Issa Al Hamadi failed to get past the elimination rounds in the ongoing Beijing Olympic Games Wednesday.

Al Hamadi was pleased with his maiden participation at the Games despite his loss to South Korean Choi Byungchul in the men’s individual foil round of 64. “I have benefited from the international exposure,” he said.

National fencing coach Tunisian Hisham Kharshoud praised the performance of Al Hamadi. “It is a good experience for the youngster. Competing at the Olympics is not easy. We should deal with the performance in a realistic way because fencing is a new sport in Qatar.”
