Italy overpower Ukraine to claim men's epee team gold

DOHA, January 25, 2009: The Italians overpowered Ukraine in the men's epee team final at the 2009 Qatar Fencing Grand Prix, Sunday, taking place at the Aspire.

Favourites, Italy outshined their opponents with a comfortable 45-25 win. Hungary finished third beating Poland 45-37 in the 3-4 place encounter.

Italy had beaten Poland 45-37, while Ukraine outclassed Hungary 45-31 to register the final berths respectively.

Saleh Al Hemaidi, the secretary general of Qatar Fencing Federation, QFF, Fahad Al Mulla, QFF board member, and other QFF officials attended the coronation ceremony.
