Qatar fencers take three medals in Syria

DOHA, April 25, 2009: Qatar fencers won three medals at the Arab Clubs Fencing Championship that concluded in Syria on Saturday.

The fencers from Qatar Fencing Federation Centre won silver and bronze in teams and a bronze in individuals competition.

Girls epee team clinched silver, while boys sabre team bagged bronze. Nasr Al Saadi won bronze in sabre individuals.

It is worth mentioning that, the fencers of QFF centre have accomplished lots of achievements recently in Arab and GCC championships.

The girls team included; Fatima Marhoon, Abrar Al Atifi, Fatima Dahi and Hinadi Al Yami, while boys sabre team consisted of Nasr Al Saadi, Ahmad Al Sidique, Abdulla Barzagar and Yahya Qassim.

Saleh Al Hemaidi, the Secretary General of QFF praised the achievements of the young fencers and wished them all the best for upcoming competitions.

Al Hemaidi ensured that QFF is keen to encourage young fencers in participating at the international arena to acquire positive experience.
