President crowns Asian Fencing Championship winners

DOHA, November 14, 2009: H.E. Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman, President of Qatar Fencing Federation crowned the winners of the ongoing Asian Fencing Championship at Aspire dome, Saturday .

Korean Park Kyoung Doo claimed men’s epee gold, while China’s Ni Hong took women’s sabre individuals gold respectively.

Rene Roch, Honorary President of International Fencing Federation, FIE handed over the medal alongside HE Sheikh Saoud, who is also FIE Vice-President of honour.

Mr. Saleh Al Hemaidi, Secretary General of Qatar Fencing Federation and Deputy Head of the organising committee welcomed the guests, participants, media officials and other attendees during the opening ceremony.

Al Hemaidi appreciated FIE’s confidence in the abilities of QFF in hosting the international and regional events in Qatar.

The six–day event is featuring participants from 23 Asian countries.
