20 epeeists to field for 2007 Grand Prix
DOHA,
January 13:
Hosts Qatar will field with 20 epeeists
in the forthcoming 4th edition of Qatar International Fencing
Tournament – Epee Grand Prix for Men starting here from 19 till 21
January 2007.
The tournament
will be held for Senior in Individual and team events at Hall of
Sport, Aspire Academy of Sports Excellence in Doha, Qatar.
Epee squad
includes Abdulaziz Al-Amodi, Mohamed Al-Dossary, Khalid Al-Hamadi,
Adel Al-Jilani, Jabor Al-Mohannadi, Dawood Al-Shukaili, Fahad
Al-Yami, Nasr Al-Saadi, Mohamed Al-Tiri, Ahmed Amir Hossein,
Mohammad Ahmed Basahl, Abdullah Ebrahimi, Ahmed El-Siddiq, Saad
Hamad, Ali Hassin, Abdulla Jamaan, Mohammad Ali Mirzaei, Abdulrahman
Najm Aldeen, Ali Ibrahim Sayari and Abdulla Yahya Qasim.
The tournament is
open for all fencers holding a FIE license for the 2007 season
and/or those subject to a request of license made by their
federation.
Number of fencers
per country authorized to participate in this event will be in
accordance with FIE regulations. Formula of the FIE Grand Prix
Events is applicable (Individual and Teams).
EQUIPMENT
All fencers should be equipped in accordance with FIE Standards.
ANTI-DOPING CONTROL
Anti-Doping Control will be done at the end of the tournament under
the responsibility of the competition official physician. The test
will be done for the 4 finalists.
The 1st and 2nd are tested automatically, one fencer will be drawn
between the other two semi-finalists. Concerning the Team Events,
the anti-doping control will be done on one fencer per team drawn by
lot, from each of the four teams having the best overall
classification.
OBSERVER
An FIE observer as well as a delegate from the referee commission
will be present.
REWARDS:
Total prize money of US$ 31,000 will be offered as follows:
INDIVIDUAL EVENT
1st Place: 5,000 US$
2nd Place: 3,000 US$
3rd Place: 2,000 US$
3rd Place: 2,000 US$
5th to 8th Place: 1,000 US$
TEAM EVENT
1st Place: 6,000 US$
2nd Place: 5,000 US$
3rd Place: 4,000 US$
Souvenirs will be offered to all the participants
