World's elite epeeists engage in individual heats

DOHA, January 19: Epeeists from more than 31 top countries locked their weapons against eachother in the heats on the opening day of the fourth edition of Qatar International Fencing Tournament – Epee Grand Prix for Men at the Hall of Sport, Aspire Academy of Sports Excellence in Doha, Qatar on Friday.

As scheduled, fencers were lined up in the early hours for registration at the competition venue which was followed by heats.

The tournament is open for all fencers holding a FIE license for the 2007 season and/or those subject to a request of license made by their federation.


Number of fencers per country authorized to participate in this event will be in accordance with FIE regulations. Formula of the FIE Grand Prix Events is applicable (Individual and Teams).
