Ukrainians clinch epee team gold

DOHA, January 21: Ukraine team got the better off Spain in the finals of men’s 4th Qatar International Fencing Tournament – Epee Grand Prix at the Hall of Sport, Aspire Academy of Sports Excellence in Doha – Qatar, Sunday, January 21 2007.

The triumphant team got richer by US$ 6,000, while the runner-up purse US$ 5,000, Hungary that finished third grabbed US$ 4,000 in the Grand Prix 2007 event.

Saleh Amer Al-Hemaidi, secretary general of Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF) honoured Ukraine for their splendid performance. Dr. Thomas Flock, Director of Aspire gave silver medal to Spain, while Fahad Al-Mulla awarded bronze to Hungary.
